Brokerage Calculators Updates

Brokerage Calculator Updates are done in all the following calculators with increase in service tax from 12.36% to 14%.  Although, the increase in service tax is announced during union budget, it is notified to be effective from 01 June 2015.

Intraday Brokerage Calculator: For Intraday traders, this calculator is useful for quickly calculating their breakeven points in the trade. Easy to calculate brokerage and all taxes to find out their breakeven in the trade.  It can be used for all intraday trades done in Indian Stock Exchanges.  It is not linked to any Broker and so one can use it as per their requirement.

Delivery Brokerage Calculator: As Brokerage and taxes are different for trades executed during Intraday and for Delivery, this calculator can be used for trades executed for delivery trades.  Although delivery trades means only one side execution, calculation is done assuming both buy and sell as taxes are different for each side and to calculate breakeven it is required.

Futures Brokerage Calculator: This calculator is updated with latest securities included in F&O Segment in NSE from 30 May 2015.  Now the total number of securities in derivatives segment of NSE is 168 from earlier 154.  Also service tax increase from earlier 12.36% to 14% is updated.  Newly included contracts in the calculator along with lot sizes are

Options Brokerage Calculator: Options brokerage calculator can be used to calculate options taxes and brokerage for the trades done in Options segment.  Just select the stock from the drop down and the lot sizes of the stock will be updated in calculator automatically.

STT Calculators for Options Expiry:  There is an update in brokerage structure of options exercised/ assigned / Expired In The Money (ITM).  Earlier no brokerage was charged for options not squared off during market hours on expiry day and expires ITM.  So only STT was charged on this which can be calculated using this calculator.  Now with the NSE circular Reference NSE/INSP/29701 Date : May 13, 2015, brokerage can be charged on these expired options.   So one must not leave ITM options with out squaring off on expiry day.  If the options expiry just In The Money, client will end up in debit due to high STT and Brokerage and Service Tax on this.

Commodity Brokerage Calculator:  Commodity calculator now opens with common commodity calculator which can be used for any commodity exchange in India.  Another two tabs in the calculator opens commodity calculators specific for MCX and NCDEX.  In MCX and NCDEX commodity brokerage calculators, both Agri and Non-Agri contracts are separately marked for CTT calculation.  One can select the traded commodity in MCX or NCDEX and Calculator also shows whether CTT is calculated on it or not.

Currency Brokerage Calculator: This currency brokerage calculator can be used to calculate taxes and brokerage for trades done on currency exchanges of India.  This currency brokerage calculator is also updated with latest increased service tax @ 14% wef 01 Jun 2015.  Additionally, one can select whether their broker charges stamp duty at actuals or maximum of Rs 50.  Some brokers cap the stamp duty charged in currency segment to a maximum of Rupees 50 per trading day.  If your broker charges this stamp duty in currency segment at actuals, it calculates actual stamp duty collected and this is default in calculator. Select Max 50 option if required from the drop down.
