Live Special Trading on Saturday 22 Mar 2014 – NSE, BSE
Special Live Trading Session will be conducted on National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange of India (BSE) on March 22, 2014, Satuarday. This Special live trading session is conducted to test the trading servers at Bombay Stock Exchange’s Disaster Recovery Site and National Stock Exchange’s BCP site.
Exchanges maintain standby trading facilities and servers at remote physical location other than their main location. This is necessary to recover all the data and continue trading in case of any disasters like floods, terrorist attacks etc., These servers are tested occasionally on satuarday’s for their efficient functioning in live trading environment. special live trading session on 22 March 2014, Satuarday will be for shorter duration than usual trading hours on the exchange. Usually all the exchanges in which equities, derivatives, SLB’s traded, conduct such live special trading sessions in consultation with each other. This is necessary to avoid price variations on each of these exchanges. Although special session for trading to test backup facilities are notified by NSE and BSE, no such circular is not yet issued by MCX-SX. So, as of now there is no clarity whether there will be a live special trading session on MCX-SX on 22 Mar 2014.
